Cornwall Park

Cornwall Park

Large houses, tall trees, lush lawns, and a stable community - these are the defining aspects of Cornwall Park neighborhood. One of Bellingham's premier Core Neighborhoods, Cornwall Park is primarily residential with a mixture of 20th century homes, apartment buildings, and businesses. Houses are generally well maintained with large front and backyards. The streets are mostly quiet and slow with some exception for the streets closer to the I-5. The majority of residents in Cornwall are homeowners, with the rest either renting houses or apartments. Points of interest include 70-acre Cornwall Memorial Park, Bellis Fair Mall, and St. Joseph Hospital - an important regional medical center and large employer of the neighborhood.

Cornwall Memorial Park is the jewel of the neighborhood, and the city as a whole. Its diverse fresh air activities include two playgrounds, BBQ grills, a splash park, basketball, tennis, and over a mile and a half of winding trails to explore. The park contains wide open fields for frisbee golf, tall canopies that provide shade, and plenty of space for dogs to chase the squirrels or tennis balls. In the summer, the park is alive with residents playing, relaxing, and exercising.

Cornwall Park also has an active neighborhood association dedicated to keeping everyone updated on neighborhood news and safety. This residential area is excellent for all walks of life and has much to offer any resident. The typical school track goes Parkview or Sunnyland Elementary to Whatcom Middle to Bellingham High.
