BELLINGHAM CHUCKANUT ISLAND & LAKE PADDEN ADVENTURES!

The family and I CHASED WATER all summer here in Belingham, WA!

We were regulars at Bloedel Donovan and Lake Whatcom, cooling off in the afternoons and evenings.

We trained for SwimRun and just played at Lake Padden multiple times a week. WHAT A PLAYGROUND that place is! Just endless backyard fun!And then we knocked off an adventure I've been dreaming of for the past year: Swimming from Teddy Bear Cove out to Chuckanut Island and back.

The kids took stand-up paddleboards, Heather and I donned wetsuits and goggles, and cruised out to that AWESOME ISLAND PARADISE!!!

We brought a picnic and stayed for the better part of two hours before swimming back.

HIGHLY recommend doing some version of that. It's just over a mile one-way, and the hike from car to beach at Teddy Bear Cove is only 10-12 minutes tops.Let me wrap up with a trio of GIF's from Lake Padden. And by all means, hit me up if you need a mid-day adventure partner for one of these in-town watery lunch breaks!!!
