Repair Your Weather Strip: A One-Minute Tutorial
Quick Summary
This video teaches you how to replace a damaged weather strip on the door leading into your garage. You will learn that the weather strip is critical because it must create an airtight seal on all four sides of the door. Knowing this repair is important for two reasons: first, the airtight seal is necessary because this is a fire door, which prevents a garage fire from spreading into the house. Second, the seal keeps the warm air inside the house and the cold air in the garage, ensuring proper thermal efficiency. The video demonstrates how to pull out the old strip and press a new finned piece into the slot.
